Harvard Business School’s Michael Porter was one of the finest simplifiers of strategy. He had a list of the eight accelerators for an average company to break out of the monotony holding it back. I want to offer my reformulations to you as The Ten Urgency Accelerators, or baby steps, to build a sense of urgency in attacking your worthy enemy.

    1. Commit to reinforcing 1 of your strengths for 30 minutes per day
    2. Remove 3 barriers to your fighting, such as bad habits, backward-thinking friends,  and worries about uncontrollable factors.
    3. Study and rank the enemy’s opposites and weaknesses.
    4. Build a circle of advisors.
    5. Create a strategic vision to attack where the enemy is weakest.
    6. Bring three others onto the team and communicate your vision.
    7. Celebrate your short-term wins.
    8. Be relentless.
    9. Don’t give up or claim success too early.
    10. There’s only 1 rule: No delays. Take a baby step each day.
